NAT

Ø What is NAT?

Which is used to translate private IP to public IP and then public IP to private IP address is called NAT (Network Address Translation)

Ø Why NAT translate IP address?

The increase of the Internet users has consumed IPv4 addresses rapidly. And to continue with these addresses various techniques have used by organizations. One of techniques that is used to use IPv4 addresses effectively is NAT .


Ø How NAT does work?

Like a room number we can use same IP addresses again and again.

Can we use same IP again? IS it possible?

Answer is yes. By doing NAT we can use same IP addresses again and again.




 

In figure we can see we use private IP to the all PC. And we all know that private IP can not access the internet . Here we user NAT Configuration so that PC can access the internet.

NAT Types

NAT (Network Address Translation) can be used in different ways in any network. So, there are some common NAT Types. These types of NAT are given below:
